We’re thrilled to be heading back to Lisbon, this time for the joint design excitement that is Lisbon by Design & Lisbon Design Week!
We love these types of city-wide design events. You get to see the city, meet with independent producers, the creative teams behind major brands, and a wide range of design professionals. Add to that the special events and workshops, often held in studios and other exclusive spaces you’d never usually get into—it’s a win/win/win/win…

A city that inspires—from the colorful architecture and gorgeous tile facades, to the many amazingly preserved interiors, and don’t forget the wealth of creative talent that calls Lisbon home. It’s a city that amply rewards those interested in pausing and taking a deeper look

Portugal’s unique history encouraged the development and preservation of many distinctive techniques, and artisanship in all areas remains a valuable aspect of Portuguese culture. The exhibitions, events, and invited guests that are all part of Lisbon by Design and Lisbon Design Week reflect this rich heritage.

Because, like any city-wide event requiring input from many different participants, a detailed schedule is typically not available until sometime in late March or April. That said, we work closely with the management teams of both Lisbon by Design and Lisbon Design Week to ensure we have early access to special private showings, workshops, openings, and other special activities.
So, you’ll have to be patient for a specific agenda but, as with our Paris and London trips, it will be a mix of
• private guided tours to museums or historic properties
• studio & showroom appointments
• hands-on workshops
• some group site-seeing
• customized recommendations based on your interests
• and more!
We’ll work with you to help you achieve your travel goals—want to hit every miradouro in the city and get your steps in? Let us know! Interested in sourcing unique tableware? Tell us! Want to try a Portuquese cooking class or wine tasting? Drop us a line!
Whether your travel goals are personal, professional, or a combination of both, as long as you let us know enough in advance, we’ll work with you to make it happen.

As mentioned, our May Lisbon 2026 itinerary will start to shape up in late March—this is when many of the major LbD and LDW participants firm up their plans. We will make adjustments to group appointments up until late April, which is when the events are, for the most part, finalized.
We honestly cannot provide anything more specific earlier than this, because the participants change, locations of pop-ups and special events change, and our goal is create a unique, interesting itinerary each trip instead of repeating the same set of appointments each year.
Lisbon 2026: $6,500**

Typically our plan for the group includes one afternoon appointment on our arrival day; one morning and one afternoon appointment on following weekdays and special evening events/party invites whenever possible.
Saturday and Sunday are left more flexible for us to assist each of you with your specific interests—you might be interested in more workshops and studio visits, or you want to go to some of the city’s many museums, or you may prefer shopping or site-seeing.
On one of those days however, we may schedule a historic property visit, or another unique opportunity. On our last full day, we like to schedule a special atelier visit or two, with free time in the afternoon for you to wrap up your Lisbon hit list and pack!

If enough people are interested, we offer a one-day field trip extension*, filled from morning to evening with exclusive events. Breakfast, lunch & transportation included. Previous examples include:
• A day trip to Sintra, with a private guided tour of the several of the royal palaces and some additional surprises
• Private tour and lunch at a historic estate and gardens, with some the largest historic tile installations remaining in private hands
• Private guides tours of three UNESCO World Heritage monasteries
• A day trip to Évora, with its UNESCO World Heritage historic city center, plus other surprises
We don’t know yet what we’ll do in May 2026, because we try to plan the day around what’s new, interesting, and exciting at the moment!
We’ve been traveling to Europe for design events for more than 20 years—and bringing fellow designers there for more than decade. We have the experience, the contacts, and the desire to make your Decor Tours trip truly worth your time. Just ask to speak with any of our many repeat clients!
